English: Left: If you try to light a sugar cube, it will not burn on its own - the sugar will caramalize. But if you cover it in ash (a catalyst), it will ignite. The pictures show partially caramelised cube sugar, right: burning cube sugar with ash as catalyst
Deutsch: Links: Wenn man versucht, einen Zuckerwürfel anzuzünden, brennt er nicht. Verwendet man hingegen Asche als Katalysator brennt er. Im linken Bild sieht man einen teilweise karamellisierten Würfelzucker; im rechten Bild die Verbrennung eines Zuckerwürfels mit Asche als Katalysator. |
